What we collect, and why
When you book a call. Our booking page collects your name, your email address and the answers you give to the booking questions. We use them to prepare and hold the call, and to follow up on it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
When you contact us. If you email us or use a contact form, we receive whatever you choose to send, including your email address and the content of your message. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of the exchange. Same legal basis as above.
When you visit the site. Our server keeps standard technical logs, including your IP address, the pages requested, the time of the request, and your browser and operating system. These logs keep the site secure and working. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating the site safely.
Audience measurement. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count how many people visit this site and which pages they read. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not follow you across other websites. It cannot identify you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing whether our own website is useful. See Cookies below.
Who else processes this data
We keep the number of tools small. The ones we use are:
- Calendly LLC (United States) - call bookings.
- Google Ireland Ltd and Google LLC (Ireland and United States) - business email through Google Workspace.
- Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) - hosting and server logs.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) - audience measurement without cookies.
We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we run no advertising or tracking scripts on this site.
Data leaving the UK and the EEA
Hetzner processes data in Germany. Calendly, Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or the EEA, those transfers rely on the safeguards in UK data protection law, which include the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, and, where it applies, the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and booking records: up to 24 months after our last exchange, unless we become a supplier to you, in which case contract and accounting rules apply.
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
- Audience measurement: aggregate counts only, kept up to 6 months. Nothing in them relates to an identifiable person.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies at all. That is why you were not asked to accept any.
We deliberately chose an audience measurement tool that works without them. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without writing anything to your browser, without a visitor identifier and without building a profile of you. It tells us that a page was read. It does not tell us who read it, and it cannot recognise you when you come back.
There is nothing for you to accept, refuse or withdraw here, and nothing to delete afterwards. If we ever add a tool that does use cookies, we will ask you first.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to another provider. You can object to processing we base on legitimate interest.
Write to [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk. If you are in the EEA, you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal data, we update this page and the date at the top of it. We will not start using cookies or tracking without asking you first.
